Bespoke Aluminium Skylights and Column Casings for Blind Veterans UK

Bespoke Aluminium Skylights and Column Casings for Blind Veterans UK

Aluminium Roofline Products Ltd

This redesigned facade showcases bespoke aluminium skylights, column casings, radius coping, and soffits. These elements flawlessly enhance the contemporary design of the Blind Veterans UK Centre in Rustington, West Sussex. The new centre is an example of the effectiveness of using aluminium as a building material. Its strength, durability, and low maintenance needs make it ideal for projects such as this one, where quality and longevity are essential.Spearheaded by Fowler Building Contractors and carried out by the specialist aluminium guttering and roofline team at County Gutters, the Rustington project prominently features bespoke aluminium column casings, soffits, radius coping, and skylights from Aluminium Roofline Products (ARP).This case study explores how expert installation, durable aluminium fabrications, and innovative design have revitalised this centre. The transformation has resulted in an accessible facility that promotes confidence, independence, and the well-being of its residents.County Gutters surveyed the former home of the RAF Benevolent Fund before sending measurements and drawings to our CAD team.Joe Wheatley of County Gutters worked closely with CAD Design Engineer Reece Mooney to ensure the designs were feasible and achievable. Their combined expertise successfully brought the architects' vision to life.Using high-quality marine-grade powder coating in colours such as Chartwell green, traffic white, and mid-grey, the finished product is visually striking and highly durable. The aluminium fabrications are strong and non-corrosive and require minimal maintenance, making them an ideal choice for a busy facility like the Blind Veterans UK Centre. The ARP team designed, manufactured and finished production in just a few weeks, with installation starting four weeks after receiving the order from County Gutters. This quick turnaround allowed the project to be completed on time and within budget, ensuring minimal disruption for Blind Veterans UK.In addition to the practical benefits, using aluminium in this project also aligns with the centre's commitment to sustainability. Aluminium is highly recyclable, making it a sustainable choice for construction projects. The Blind Veterans UK Centre continues to provide much-needed support and services to veterans with visual impairments. The innovative design and use of durable aluminium fabrications have revitalised the facility and contributed to its mission of promoting independence and a high quality of life for its residents. The final result is a stunning new centre that provides crucial services to blind veterans in need. The open floor plan, made possible by removing walls and pillars, promotes accessibility for all residents. The modern design also features impressive aluminium fabrications that enhance the overall aesthetic of the building. The circular column casings had to be custom-made to fit the curved design of the concrete pillars, showcasing aluminium's versatility and bespoke capabilities as a building material. The Trueline Z plank soffit and radius coping add unique architectural details while providing long-lasting protection against weather elements.ARP takes great pride in being involved in this project, designing and manufacturing custom-made aluminium fabrications that proudly adorn the façade of this magnificent beachfront building. The Rustington Centre was recently featured on BBC's The One Show. Presenter Amar Latif had the opportunity to visit the centre and meet two remarkable veterans, 100-year-old Ken and 100-year-old Nancy. They discussed the move from their former home to the new purpose-built centre and how it has positively impacted their lives. The Blind Veterans UK Rustington Centre is a truly invaluable resource for blind veterans, and we are honoured to have contributed to its new home in West Sussex. If you're considering aluminium for your next building project, ARP can provide bespoke fabrications to enhance any design. Aluminium Roofline Products Ltd

Langton Homes is a well-established family-owned company specialising in developing properties throughout the Midlands for more than thirty years. One of their recent projects was four high-end luxury detached six-bedroom houses featuring extensive outbuildings, each set within large private grounds. The main property on the development – Langton House, was being specifically built for the owner of Langton Homes.Having used Mustang® Seamless gutters on projects in the past, they had no issues specifying it again for this development. Existing garages on the development, which had previously been fitted with uPVC as a cheaper option, were now failing and leaking, so they were replaced at the same time as the rest of the development was installed with Mustang® Seamless Aluminium Gutters.Mustang® was ideal for this build due to the sleek, clean lines of the gutter, with no external brackets on view. Mustang seamless gutters are strong and durable but lightweight and easy to install, with most of the preparation work being done at ground level before the gutter is raised to height for the final fixing into place, meaning that it is often safer and quicker than fitting traditional guttering. As the aluminium is roll-formed on-site to the exact dimensions of the building in continuous lengths of up to 30 metres, there is no waste.Once installed Mustang® Seamless Aluminium Guttering requires minimal maintenance. It is the only quality-assured seamless gutter system certified by the British Board of Agrément (BBA) to last over 30 years. A certification ARP has held for over 25 years.Colonnade aluminium downpipes completed the installation and were polyester powder coated (PPC) in Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016) to match the colour of the gutter in our in-house purpose-built PPC facility.Aluminium is a natural, non-corrosive material and needs little maintenance, but it is also fully recyclable. Aluminium will not crack, creek or fade, resulting in a truly ‘fit and forget’ system.Andy Craven, Site Manager of Langton Homes, said:“We have continuously used Mustang® Seamless Guttering as a superior alternative to PVC, we have absolute confidence in the installation and the low maintenance of the product.”

Newdigate Builders, a thriving construction company with over 30 years of experience, is led by Dave Coventry. Dave, who has always dreamed of building his own home, finally achieved this milestone by purchasing land to build an expansive 6-bedroom property, complete with a basement, garage, and sunrooms. As an established customer of ARP, Dave was already familiar with the exceptional quality of their products. With his extensive knowledge of the pitfalls of uPVC, Dave was determined to use the best possible materials for the rainwater system in his new home. Because of this, he reached out to Nigel Hancock, the Area Sales Manager for ARP.Nigel visited the site and proposed the installation of 125 x 100 Sentinel Deepflow Gutters and 76mm Colonnade swaged aluminium downpipes, a robust aluminium rainwater system designed to meet Dave's high standards.Given the nature of the new build, Dave wanted the gutters and downpipes to complement the stone accents of his property. ARP’s in-house polyester powder coating facility enabled a precise colour match to the stone, ensuring a cohesive and visually appealing finish.Dave promptly placed his order, and ARP's production team swiftly moved to fulfil it, demonstrating their commitment to customer satisfaction.Dave Coventry, Managing Director of Newdigate Builders, remarked: "ARP provides a quality product at an affordable price."Through this collaboration, Dave not only realised his dream but also underscored the importance of selecting high-quality, sustainable materials in construction. Round House Radius Gutters - Bespoke Aluminium Rainwater Goods

Aluminium Roofline Products Ltd

ARP manufactured a bespoke version of its Legacy heritage-style cast aluminium guttering for a unique house in Yorkshire.Oaklands, built by Cohesion Construction Services, is an entirely round house with an interior core, an outdoor dining area and a fire pit. The unique design presented ARP with a challenge to produce guttering for both the internal and external curved roofline. Following a complete site survey, ARP designed the radius guttering as a bespoke one-off within a tight four-week timeframe. Our team designed a bespoke rainwater system based on our Legacy cast aluminium guttering system, to the exact slate grey colour specified (RAL7015) with a fine finish to add texture. A bespoke mould was created as well as several samples to ensure a perfect fit. This was achieved on the first attempt to within a 2mm tolerance for the full radius, internal and external.Legacy cast aluminium gutters combine modern manufacturing techniques and materials with traditional style and durability. Manufactured using traditional castings as a perfect alternative to cast iron gutters, even on conservation, heritage and listed properties, the Legacy range is produced in five profiles and many sizes to replicate traditional cast iron profiles. During its long 40+ year lifespan, ARP Legacy gutter systems require little or no maintenance.Despite its striking modern design, the client nevertheless wanted to achieve a traditional style for the new-build property. Legacy guttering was matched with our Colonnade circular cast collared aluminium rainwater pipes, giving the house exterior a traditional design twist whilst retaining its modern aesthetic.“This has certainly been a very interesting and challenging project, with hardly a straight line or corner on the whole project,” says Giles White, MD of Cohesion Construction Services. “I have worked with ARP many times as my go-to roofline supplier, and I knew they could rise to the challenge of producing this radiused guttering. They certainly delivered – on time, on budget and right first time – and the project looks spectacular.”ARP products combine the best of traditional design with the latest materials and manufacturing technology to allow new and refurbished buildings to enjoy long-life durability and classic good looks.

Social Housing / Local Authority - Wakefield District Council

Aluminium Roofline Products Ltd

Wakefield District Council are a modern thinking local authority with a clear set of defined ideals to suit their tenants’ priorities. They aim to accomplish a strict performance standard above the government’s ‘decent homes’ scheme. The Government standard was set in 2000 and states that ‘all social housing should meet a set standard of decency’.As part of this scheme, Wakefield District Council determined that Mustang® Aluminium Seamless Guttering was the best choice to replace the existing plastic guttering on over 500 properties in their re-roofing and new build programme. The council chose Mustang® because it is a high-quality aluminium gutter which is durable and robust but requires minimal maintenance, as the ideal solution. The system is far superior to plastic, which tends to fail after a few years, causing callouts for the council’s maintenance team.Mustang® Aluminium Seamless Guttering is made from recycled aluminium but can also be recycled once it has reached the end of its useful life span, which is more than 30 years. There is no waste, as it is roll formed on-site to the exact dimensions of the building, in lengths of up to 30 metres, with no joints, reducing future maintenance costs and callouts. The Mustang® Seamless Gutter system is the only British Board of Agrément (BBA) approved system.
