Fire Shutter - Fireroll Acoustic - Acoustic Rated and Fire Resisting Roller Shutter

Bolton Gate Company’s Fireroll range of roller shutters is the most comprehensive available in the market. A further addition is the Fireroll Acoustic which combines fire resistance with a high degree of sound reduction.
During extensive testing at Salford University Department of Acoustics and two Fire Test Laboratories, the door achieved a sound reduction of a maximum 25.2dB (at 2000Hz) with a 22dB Rw coupled with a rating of E120 when tested in accordance with EN1634-1.
In keeping with the same testing, the shutter is also rated EW90 or EW120 dependent on size for face fixed arrangements.
A special double curtain arrangement is also available which reduces sound transmission further to a maximum of 39.1dB (at 2000Hz) with a 32dB Rw.

Providing up to two hours of fire resistance the Fireroll EW insulated curtain also considerably reduces the risk of combustible materials igniting on the unexposed side when compared to standard single skin fire shutters.
When tested, the radiation transfer remained below 15kW/m² making this product ideal for protecting personnel passing the opening.

Bolton Gate Company introduces the Fireroll VR60, a revolutionary EI rated product designed to provide both 60 minutes’ fire protection and 60 minutes’ heat insulation protection between individual compartments.
Up to the present time, the heat insulation requirement of a fire door was only met by unsightly hinged or sliding products with thick panels and the disadvantage of their associated space requirements. Due to the highly innovative and distinctly unique design of the Fireroll VR60, the product has all the advantages of a rolling fire shutter which can be stored above the false ceiling whilst at the same time meeting the challenging requirements of both integrity and insulation in line with the latest building regulations.

The Sonaroll is Bolton Gate Company’s purpose built acoustically rated rolling shutter. This sound reducing door system combines several features and benefits into one high quality attractive design.
In addition to acting as a secure and weather resistant closure, the shutter offers significant acoustic and also thermal insulation properties.
Extensively tested at the Department of Acoustics at Salford University, the door achieved a maximum sound reduction of 27.2dB (at 5000Hz) with a 22dB RW, which is considerably higher than other similar roller shutters on the market.
A special double curtain arrangement is also available. This provides significantly increased acoustic performance with a maximum of 39.8dB (at 2000Hz) and 33dB RW rating.

Each Thermafold 1000 is bespoke and manufactured to order allowing significant flexibility when developing product specifications. With either manual or electric operation the floor mounted pivot arrangement removes the need for a recessed floor track to span the opening.

The Collapsible Gate was the starting point for Bolton Gate Company over 100 years ago. Our proud tradition of quality British manufacturing began with this product as part of the 1919 King’s National Roll Scheme specifically providing employment opportunities for disabled servicemen returning from the Great War.

Fire Shutter - Horizontal Four Hour Horizontally Operating Fire Resisting Shutter

On alarm activation, the shutter curtain formed from heavy duty curved profile laths mounted between fabricated guide channels is driven out electrically along the horizontal.
The bespoke shutter is ideally suited to provide fire integrity compartmentation where equipment or materials need to be transferred between floors. Alternatively, it can be used on travelators and escalator openings that are not specifically used as part of the fire exit strategy.
