Brett's Alpha Flow was chosen to provide the SuDS for this enclosed carpark. Due to the lack of space within the carpark a concrete block permeable pavement was the only viable option to deal with the surface water drainage requirements by infiltrating the water back into the ground.
Permeable paving provides the surface water drainage problem for contaminated ground on this housing development.

The site at Ruston Way presented more than its fair share of problems for the developer, Westleigh Developments. Given that the former industrial site that Westleigh inherited contained a mixture of contaminants including
casting sand, heavy metals, phosphorus and various salts, the strategy for dealing with surface water run-off had to be fool proof in order to avoid pollution. So, the site is subtended by a polythene layer to prevent surface water run off from entering the subgrade and leaching out pollutants into the water course.

Southwark Bridge cycle route protected by Trief Containment Kerbs

Trief containment kerbs have been used to create a safe route for cyclists and pedestrians across the length of
Southwark Bridge.
This project is part of a push by the Mayor of London’s Office over recent years to encourage Londoners to cycle
into the city and thereby to reduce congestion and vehicle pollutants in the capital. Although a relatively small
scheme, this is an innovative use of Trief product, which, being on a bridge deck, was installed reinforced with
dowels to minimise excavation depths.

especially around the petrol islands, pump
areas and parking bays.
The Brett Trief high containment kerbs
met the brief as an obvious solution
for the vulnerable areas of the service
station. The concave recess of the Trief
Kerb provides a visual caution prompting
drivers to steer away. If a vehicle should
veer towards the kerb, the recess traps
the bulge in the tyre wall and redirects
the vehicle back onto forecourt in a line
dictated by the kerb.
