Cladco Corrugated Roofing & Cladding | Cove Valley Case Study

CLADCO PROFILES LTD

Cove Valley is a 300-acre reserve located in the heart of the Exe Valley, Devon countryside. Surrounded by trees and nature, this rural escape is a rewilding project which strives to allow natural restoration of its plants, animals and ecosystems.Cove Valley has three breath-taking cabins nestled into their land, all of which have their own styles and are offered out to guests as a countryside retreat. To blend in with the wild environment, they have chosen Cladco 13/3 Corrugated Roofing Sheets for roofing and cladding in a range of colours; Chestnut to match the soil, Olive Green to blend in with the trees and Plain Galvanised for an industrial aesthetic. In the above images, you can see the Ukai Cabin with our 13/3 Corrugated Sheets installed as cladding and roofing. Our Olive Green PVC Plastisol Coating has been chosen to camouflage the cabin and preserve the scenic landscape. The addition of a stilted timber balcony adds to this aesthetic. This cabin is the Chatan, built on the edge of a slop it features our 13/3 Corrugated Roofing Sheets in Plain Galvanised. The use of these Sheets creates a rustic and traditional cabin look to complement the surrounding countryside. Our Roofing Sheets are cut to order in our warehouses to specific lengths. For this project, Cove Valley used our Roofing Calculator to estimate the initial cost of all cabins, and then to discover what lengths of Sheets will be required.Named Hopi, this cabin is inspired by the land around it, with muddy hills and logs that are reflected in the colours and textures. Here you can see our 13/3 Corrugated Cladding and Roofing Sheets in Chestnut PVC Plastisol Coating. The Coating of PVC Plastisol gives extra scratch resistance and protection against damage from debris and weather. With this Coating, your roof can have a life of over 40 years and only need maintenance at about 15 - 20 years. Our Roofing Sheets come in 0.7mm and 0.5mm thicknesses; we recommend using the 0.7mm thick Sheets for roofing and the 0.5mm Sheets for cladding. Cove Valley chose Cladco Roofing Sheets due to their ease of installation and large selection of colours, coatings and profiles, giving them plenty of choice to find the perfect match for each cabin. As well as our Roofing Sheets, Cove Valley used our Flashings to create a seamless and protective design. CLADCO PROFILES LTD

In this channel 4 series, George Clarke explores the extraordinary world of small builds, where people up and down the UK transform their tiny and unconventional spaces, into the most extraordinary places to work, live, play or stay. There is a particular emphasis on the creative use of small areas - where in the previous series' people turn tiny spaces such as old boats and public buses into the most incredible places. In each episode, we see George Clarke experimenting with ideas and getting involved with the design and architecture of each project along the way.The Twit For Twoo, as featured in Series 11 episode 3 of George Clarke's Amazing Spaces which aired on 23rd January 2023, is a unique off-grid cabin nestled within North Devon farmland - with a subtle Owl theme running throughout both its interior and exterior design."A slice of rural heaven, on a hilltop in North Devon"The idea, inspired by a childhood love of treehouses, was bought to life by Farmer Stu Quance and his wife Charli, who wanted to create a fun, DIY project to help diversify their family farm - encouraging holidaymakers from across the country to come and stay in the unique space and enjoy the stunning Devonshire countryside for generations to come.Perched high on a hilltop, The Twit For Twoo is an incredible wooden cabin where guests can enjoy a 360° view of the rolling countryside, finding comfort in the knowledge that it has been designed with sustainability at the forefront of Stu's mind when making this build a reality. The outside decking posts, stilts, and internal wooden features such as the handrail and internal cladding have been sourced from the farm's local woodlands, helping to reduce costs and transport miles by making the most of the neighbouring land.Cladco RoofingIn keeping with the environmentally friendly foundations of this Amazing Spaces project, the steel sheets used to mimic the look and feel of traditional roof tiles on the cabin, were sourced from Cladco Roofing, a Devon-based Roofing company local to the farm, and therefore requiring minimal transport miles to deliver - whilst supporting small local businesses along the way.As well as this, the Tile Form Roof Sheets installed on the cabin are manufactured from Greencoat® colour-coated steel, an eco-friendly, sustainable, and durable exterior product which is far superior to other materials, ensuring the cabin roof lasts for years to come.Cladco Tile Form Roof Sheets:✔️ Can be installed to a minimum 12° pitch✔️ Can be cut to specific lengths✔️ Feature an authentic pantile appearance✔️ Are very low maintenance✔️ Suitable for agricultural, domestic and commercial use✔️ Available in three ColoursSpeaking with George about his cabin, Stuart says "I think its awesome - all that hard work, effort, and plans - and there it is! Cladco Box Profile 34/1000 Roofing Sheets have been used in this fantastic project. The mixture of materials used within the build, such as the Steel Sheeting paired with the timber cladding and red brick, all work fantastically together, creating a contemporary yet warm rural home. The Scandinavian influences are clear in this build, with the straight lines and darker pallet of tones and shades in the grey timber cladding and Slate Blue Cladco Profiles Roofing Sheets.Cladco Steel Roofing Sheets can create a contemporary, beautiful and unique home, which balances the manufactured with the natural. This home, designed with rural outbuilding roots, has been expertly designed to disappear into the site. While this build has contemporary aspects, the Steel Sheeting Roof and raw brickwork ensure the home blends in with the rural landscape around, while not bringing too much attention to itself and making a statement in the area.Cladco Box Profile 34/1000 Steel Roofing Sheets in Slate Blue are often used in either agricultural or industrial builds and give this L shaped home a unique yet traditional look. The Steel of the Roof juxtaposes well with the nature within and surrounding build. The large expanses of Glass used in this design allows for optimum light penetration, creating a bright, airy and large space. The Spinney Case Study

The Spinney Case Study

CLADCO PROFILES LTD

This cutting-edge design uses Cladco 32/1000 Box Profile 0.5 Thick Sheets as metal wall cladding. Cladco 34/1000 Box Profile 0.7 Thick Sheets have been used for the metal roofing and Cladco Woodgrain Cladding Boards in charcoal have also been used as composite cladding on the rest of the property.Renovations by @jamiewarebuilding began in May 2021, when he and the team skilfully transformed this property from a small, three-bed bungalow to what it is today – a vast two-storey dwelling featuring six bedrooms with four ensuite bathrooms, two reception rooms, a large open plan kitchen/diner with a built-in wine cellar and a sizeable balcony overlooking the remote area known as “The Spinney”.The Box Profile sheets used to clad and roof one-half of The Spinney’s exterior have been manufactured using galvanised steel and pre-coated in Black PVC Plastisol. PVC Plastisol has a 200-micron-thick coating that adds a high-quality, scratch-resistant finish to the Steel Sheets, whilst the embossed leather grain finish the PVC coating provides adds a traditional texture to an otherwise contemporary project. When installed as wall cladding, Cladco sheets bring a modern aesthetic to The Spinney - complementing the industrial feel of the project where mesh balcony balustrades have also been installed. Cladco steel sheets have low-maintenance and high-strength benefits, protecting any building from harsh weather conditions and side winds, whilst still being lightweight and easy to cut, install and handle. We recommend that when installed as cladding, our 0.5mm sheet thickness is used. Each 32/1000 steel sheet features six ridge profiles across its length. On the roof where our 34/1000 sheets have been installed alongside them, there is excellent rainwater run-off and any build-up of natural debris such as leaves and moss is prevented.A selection of Custom Made Cladco Flashings has been used to suit the unique shape and angles of The Spinney, creating a bespoke finish with seamless edging and an all-over weather-tight end product. The Spinney truly is the perfect example of how versatile Steel Sheeting can be. The other half of The Spinney’s exterior has been beautifully finished using Cladco Woodgrain Composite Wall Cladding Boards in charcoal. They have been installed vertically - elongating the building whilst stylishly coinciding with the metal wall cladding. Composite cladding boards are a low-maintenance and effortless way to get that real wood effect - and on The Spinney, the woodgrain texture on the boards blends seamlessly with the surrounding woodland area. There's no need to paint, stain, treat, or varnish. Simply install the product on any external wall and witness the transformation.  Despite the modern and industrial-like feel to the project, with its inky hues and dark exterior, homely finishing touches have been added in the form of a welcoming porch boot room and small outside seating area. The entire project is surrounded by various floral hanging baskets, blossoming trees, and climbing plants - all of which bring pops of colour, character, and a lived-in ambience to The Spinney as a home.Want to see more impressive projects where Cladco Box Profile Sheets have been used?
