Sustainability overview
Every piece of furniture we create tells a story that will outlive us all. As stewards of our shared outdoor spaces, we understand that simply reducing harm isn’t enough – our responsibility lies in actively nurturing the world we’ll pass on to future generations.
This conviction shapes every decision we make, from the materials we select to the partnerships we forge. Our team approaches each design as an opportunity to demonstrate how thoughtful choices today can create a more sustainable and thriving tomorrow. We’re not interested in quick fixes or following trends – we’re here to show how beautiful, lasting design can help heal our relationship with the natural world.
A workshop powered by wind
Our Kent-based factory and warehouse draw their energy entirely from renewable sources, with wind-powered grids providing the foundation for our day’s work. It’s a practical example of how traditional manufacturing skills can embrace modern environmental stewardship.
Materials for good
Durability is sustainability in action. Our Endura™ Thermally Modified Ash represents two years of research into enhancing locally grown timber. Through careful heat treatment, we’ve found a way to give British ash the resilience of tropical hardwood – without the environmental cost of long-distance transportation.
We source reclaimed wood through our partnership with Ashwells’ Timber Yard, giving new life to timber from demolished structures across the United Kingdom. When we do use new wood, we choose FSC Iroko Timber from carefully managed forests with robust replanting programmes.
Steel solutions
Every piece of steel in our workshop has a story – most often, one of renewal. Using recycled steel saves 74% of the energy required for new material, and we’ve developed systems to use every offcut efficiently. Our innovative triple-process powder coating method delivers durability with less environmental impact than traditional galvanising, while creating a finish that withstands the tests of time and weather.
Design for what’s next
Our furniture is engineered not just for today, but for decades of service. Each piece can be easily maintained, repaired, and eventually, when the time comes, completely separated for recycling or reuse. We provide clear maintenance guidelines with every installation, ensuring our furniture serves communities for generations.
Take a stand
Our collaboration with Ecologi is just the beginning. For every piece of furniture we create, new trees take root in carefully chosen projects across Africa and South America. You can explore our growing digital forest to see the tangible impact of these plantings.
We’re constantly seeking new partnerships that align with our vision for a more sustainable future. Whether it’s working with innovative material scientists, local community groups, or conservation experts, we believe that the best solutions come from combining different perspectives and expertise.
We believe that every piece of street furniture is an opportunity to show how good design can serve both people and planet. Join us in creating outdoor spaces that future generations will thank us for.
Our most sustainable ranges
We offer reclaimed hardwood and WPC slats as an option for some of our popular ranges like Zenith and Fordham, speak with our sales team for more info on this.
