Al Wasl Plaza

Al Wasl Plaza

Futureglass

Al Wasl Plaza served as the central hub of Dubai Expo 2020 and continues to stand as the heart of Expo City. Surrounded by a decorative garden and five elegantly designed buildings, the Plaza exemplifies the Expo's core theme: "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future."Designed by the acclaimed Chicago-based architecture firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, the project demanded a balance between aesthetic impact and technical precision. The architectural brief called for an environment where the iconic dome and garden remained the visual centerpiece—requiring the surrounding three office buildings and two hotels to complement the space without overpowering it.

At The Top

Futureglass

Towering above Dubai’s skyline, the Burj Khalifa represents the city’s stature as a global hub for business and tourism. This architectural marvel, featuring residences, a luxury hotel, and commercial spaces, draws millions of visitors annually. Among its most celebrated attractions are the observation decks on the 124th and 148th floors. The journey to At The Top begins at the entrance lobby, an exquisitely designed space that offers visitors a glimpse of the breathtaking experience awaiting them. Blending world-class design, engineering, and craftsmanship, the lobby reflects the grandeur of the world’s tallest building. The ChallengeCreating the glass for the At The Top lobby demanded precision and excellence. The client’s requirement for a specific PVB colour combination posed a significant challenge, as ensuring long-term durability and colour consistency was crucial. Partnering with Seele, renowned for their work on Apple stores worldwide, added another layer of rigor with stringent quality inspections for each pane of glass. Despite the challenges, the result was a flawless product that met the uncompromising standards of both the Burj Khalifa and Seele.

City Walk

City Walk

Futureglass

About the ProjectOne of the most luxurious developments in Dubai, City Walk brings together high-end fashion brands, fine dining restaurants, opulent homes and awe-inspiring entertainment venues. Developed by real estate company Meraas, City Walk is a design-inspired lifestyle destination. Meraas and global design experts from Benoy worked together to create this multi-purpose space right in the heart of the city. A small part of the much larger Downtown area, City Walk has become a bustling cultural and retail hub for the city. The ChallengeWith City Walk being a luxury retail development, we were tasked with the job of creating a glamorous and striking façade for the property. The architect wanted to create an exterior that would reflect the mood of its surroundings, compelling us to push the envelope and think of unique solutions to meet the design requirements. The structure was conceptualised to have a chequered façade that didn’t compromise on vision. This became one of the most interesting challenges for us to overcome. Given the harsh desert climate and extreme temperatures faced in the city, we had to ensure that our design helped control the glare from the panels while also providing shaded areas for comfort. Additionally, the design called for the panels to change colours through the day without affecting the view from inside. Most importantly, we needed to ensure that our façade solutions were low-maintenance, easy to install, and met all the local building code requirements.

Dubai Frame

Dubai Frame

Futureglass

Designed to resemble a picture frame, the structure in the Za’abeel area of Dubai offers uninterrupted views of Old Dubai and New Dubai. From the top, viewers enjoy clear views of Dubai’s unique skyline, including Burj Khalifa on one side. Dubai’s more humble older buildings offer a stark contrast on the other side. We had the opportunity to work on this prestigious project by supplying the glass for the Frame’s unique façade. When viewed from the outside, the structure has gold and chrome detailing, similar to a picture frame. From the inside, however, it offers clear views. We had to ensure the panels allowed sufficient light transmission while filtering heat and minimising glare so visitors have a comfortable experience. The sheer size of the structure meant we had to deliver large quantities without compromising on quality. We checked every panel at our state-of-the-art processing facility to ensure no on-site rejections. Our hard work has helped create a unique structure that welcomed 1 million visitors within the first year.

Future Glass was chosen to deliver a bespoke glazing solution for the iconic Ermenegildo Zegna flagship store located in Dubai Mall, the brand’s largest boutique in West Asia. Known globally for luxury menswear, Zegna required a storefront that would not only reflect their brand’s elegance but also capture attention with maximum transparency and refined simplicity. To meet these expectations, we supplied and installed our Claroview anti-reflective glass, custom-laminated using two panels of 6 mm Guardian Clarity single-side annealed glass, bonded with a 3.04 mm clear PVB interlayer. The result: a near-invisible glass façade that ensures crystal-clear visibility, minimal reflection, and easy maintenance—essential for high-end retail spaces located in busy public areas.Despite strict time constraints, complex mall logistics, and limited working hours, the Future Glass team successfully completed the installation within three days, without disrupting mall operations. This project exemplifies our ability to combine technical precision, luxury aesthetics, and flawless execution, helping our client enhance customer experience while staying aligned with their brand’s global identity.
