It has a Scandinavian feel with exposed concrete ceilings and beams, feature tube lighting, and polished plaster walls combined with modern fittings to provide a calm, metropolitan setting. Maxwood was appointed to create the same look and feel within the washrooms and designed a space that is serene with a hospitality feel. This is created by having individual mirrors hanging on picture rails above the vanity units and bespoke coat hooks. Over the past six years this space has undergone extensive refurbishment and extension works.​Maxwood created a stunning washroom which incorporates beautiful Terrazzo which encompassed the floors, vanities, and walls. A popular choice for executive washrooms, Maxwood’s Marante range offers full-height cubicle styling for total privacy. The versatile system features a unique pilaster design, rebated to run in-line with the doors, and is used with fall-to-close hinges to maintain a flush appearance. For the washroom refurbishment at Gresham Street, new Marante cubicle doors and pilasters were fixed to existing tiled divisions. Cubicles are finished in a fashionable grey Koto real-wood veneer laminate, which provides the warmth and beauty of natural wood with the long lasting, low maintenance benefits of high pressure laminated panels.​Maxwood’s modern makeover for the office washrooms also included replacing existing hand basins with pure white vanity units and chrome finish mono mixer taps. The new vanity tops were manufactured from Dupont’s Zodiaq range of 30mm quartz surfaces, designed to deliver diamond-like radiance and durability. Complementary fixtures and fittings add the finishing touches to the washrooms’ light, contemporary interiors, including stainless steel skirting and recessed stainless steel units combining paper towel dispenser and waste bin.

The completed building, designed by Bennetts Associates Architects, provides approximately 100,000 sq ft of contemporary workspace, including male, female and disabled access washrooms by Maxwood to six floors and basement area. ​Maranté toilet cubicles are faced with a fashionable ‘Lati Silk’ dark grey real wood veneer.Maxwood’s stainless steel hardware range featuring concealed fixings and fall-to-close hinges.Bins are concealed within bespoke cupboard units with painted MDF doors on soft-close hinges.Vanity tops for the new washrooms at Chancery Lane were produced from Caithness Flagstone, a beautiful and highly durable material; created over 400 million years ago and only found in the far north of Scotland, Caithness Flagstone is one of the most versatile slates on the market.‘Ice-stix’ glass tiling to rear vanity walls and as a panel facing for the Maxwall ducting units for WCs.Maxwall panels for the urinals were faced in back-painted glass with urinal divider screens from back-to-back glass with a white interlayer.

In keeping with the project’s prestigious specification, the washrooms feature a distinctive cast of luxury materials, from real wood veneer cubicles and decorative glass duct panelling to high performance hardware with an attractive copper-coloured finish.​Maranté cubicle range, bespoke cubicle doors, divisions and pilasters for the new offices are faced with an attractive Dark Oak veneer from the ALPIkord range.Maxwood’s Maxwall Duct Panelling system a made-to-measure glass finish ducting units, back-painted in a subtle Mouse-Grey,The stainless steel hardware, such as cubicle handles and hinges, are PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) coated to simulate the luxurious effect of copper.Trough-style vanity tops, custom designed and manufactured by Maxwood in Corian Designer White. Vanity Mirror Units feature a stainless steel band to the lower horizontal edge fixed with ‘lift off’ clips. It was a full restoration project combing a Victorian warehouse and new build extension.This was a sensitive restoration of the historic fabric, coupled with carefully considered new interventions, preserving the character of the original for future generations. This building provides 60,000 square feet office space, with the ground floor used as retail and reception, plus four floors of office space.​The Maxwood Washrooms concept was to retain Farmiloe’s beautiful character in conjunction with the new extension. The new and old buildings are connected with bridges with exposed brickwork and concrete which is mirrored in the exposed washroom ceilings and concrete vanity top.

CLIENT: Nusr-EtARCHITECT: MJP ArchitectsMAIN CONTRACTOR: WFC ContractorsSITE DURATION: 3 MonthsThe ProjectLaunched by Turkish restaurateur Nusret Gökçe, also known as online sensation “Salt Bae”, Nusr-Et has taken the global stage by storm following the unparalleled success of the “Salt-Bae” online viral videos where Nusret can frequently be seen serving high-profile celebrities, seasoning his dishes in his signature ‘down the forearm’ style and panache (hence the “Salt-Bae” name)The BriefNusr-Et aims to offer a distinctive, lavish experience and has been globally praised for delivering a unique dining concept combined with an innovative menu, impeccable service, and great fun.​The Nusr-Et experience is based around elegance, with their brand values asserting that “you will taste an exquisite menu”, “be overwhelmed with fantastic smells” and “everything you touch will be enchanting”. It was therefore extremely important that these brand values carried through into all areas of the restaurant, including the design of the ever-important washroom areas.​Maxwood Washrooms were excited to be chosen to deliver the washroom designs for the project and we were devoted to ensuring that the washroom experience conveyed the opulence and exclusivity of the Nur-Et brand.The SolutionFollowing their experience of our bespoke PVD-finished Maranté cubicles at a recently completed, high-profile public sector project, MJP specifically tracked us down and offered to collaborate with us. Whilst hospitality washrooms are not our core target, we readily accepted this once in a lifetime opportunity to create something truly unique.  Offering full height total privacy and a flush surface finish and soft door closes, Maranté offered an elegant, chic style that met the brief perfectly. With a range of finishes available, the clear choice for Nusr-Et was a lavish gold PVD brushed cubicle, finished with brushed brass finish stainless steel for a timeless, luxurious experience.​With complementary Maxwall Duct Panelling in matching finishes, sumptuous Dark Emperador Marble vanity troughs and illuminated Prism Mirror boxes, the final look for Nusr-Et combined an eclectic mix of multifunctional design, sleek styling, and opulent finishes.The ResultThe client was extremely happy with the final look and feel achieved within the restaurant washroom. The blend of modern styling, intelligent design and lavish finishes perfectly embodied the Nusr-Et brand and delivers the highly successful guest experience that the brand continually looks to convey.

Washroom cubicles at Velocity Brooklands are combined with Maxwood Xeista Cascade vanity units. Vanity tops are made from engineered Zodiac quartz stone, a beautiful, non-porous surface that will retain its look and lustre with minimal maintenance. Mirrors are installed from vanity unit level up to the ceiling together with some full height mirrors and pelmet lighting. Splashbacks were made from back-painted frosted metallic glass. Chrome finish single lever mix taps for hand basins complete the washrooms’ smart, contemporary feel.​The Maxwall Duct Panelling system was used to assist washroom installation and neatly conceal pipework and cisterns. Made-to-measure for each project and delivered to site ready to be installed, Maxwall ducting units make the running of pipework and mounting of sanitaryware quick, easy and secure. At Velocity Brooklands, Maxwall units in back-painted ‘Lime Zest’ glass provide fully accessible back panels to toilet cubicles, while full height Maxwall panels in white back-painted toughened glass are installed to male urinals, complete with frosted glass urinal dividers.​Three showers, including one designed for disabled access, are provided in all washrooms in line with the Government’s green scheme to encourage employees to cycle to work. These facilities also include lockers from Maxwood’s Ocean range, which offers a robust storage solution for wet and dry environments, together with complementary benching. At Velocity Brooklands, the lockers’ standard aluminium carcass is combined with durable, easy to clean solid grade laminate doors and sides in a white finish.
