Sustainability overview
At voestalpine Metsec, we recognise that the construction industry has a vital role to play in addressing the climate crisis and we’re proud to be leading by example. Sustainability is central to the way we work, and our long-term commitment is clear: we are working towards achieving net zero by 2035.
To support this, we’re actively reducing the embodied carbon in our products and processes, improving energy efficiency, and increasing transparency around environmental impacts. Our approach is built on credible data and third-party verification to help our customers make more sustainable choices with confidence.
A key part of this is Metsec Decarb our initiative to drive measurable carbon reductions across our product portfolio. As part of this, we’ve developed an expanding portfolio of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), independently verified and aligned with EN 15804 standards. These cover a wide range of our solutions, including our market-leading Steel Framing Systems (SFS) and Dry Lining products, and provide detailed, product-specific insights into their environmental performance across the full lifecycle.
We know that specifiers, designers, and contractors are under increasing pressure to demonstrate low-carbon decision-making and meet ambitious regulatory and client sustainability targets. That’s why we make all relevant EPDs and supporting documentation readily accessible through our product listings here on NBS - so the data you need is always close at hand.
As part of the voestalpine group, we bring the strength of international innovation with a firm focus on local responsibility. By working in partnership with the construction supply chain, we’re helping to accelerate the transition to lower-impact buildings and infrastructure.
Sustainability isn’t a destination - it’s a shared responsibility. With Metsec Decarb and our sights set on 2035, we’re building that future together.
