Superb development with inset balconies and beautiful roof terraces. This prestige development by the riverside in Manchester used the MyDek Vista board on our standard box rail and cleat support system. Renaker and their subcontractor were a pleasure to work with and were keen to ensure that they delivered a first class product and installation to complement the quality of the development. The penthouse terraces on the project had an unusual design in the base construction which meant that the ends of the boards by the balustrade had to be supported by matching aluminium angle rather than a standard joist and pedestal detail. Due this point and to the large construction depth as well as the risk of wind uplift the client opted to select a special coloured aluminium deck board rather than porcelain. We also worked with them to provide a unique way of fixing the boards to allow them to be removed to access abseil points beneath the deck.

A stunning refit of a listed building overlooking Green ParkDevonshire House is a Grade 2 listed gem residing in Mayfair, and we worked with Bain Capital and TP Bennett Architects and their respective contractors on the refurbishment of the fourth-floor offices and their four expansive external terraces. The challenge was to find a decking solution that was fully compliant with the latest Building Safety Regulations while maintaining the aesthetic of this historic London property.MyDek’s Luxura – an A1 fire-rated composite – was chosen for the project as it seamlessly aligned with the building’s aesthetics while delivering a robust, enduring surface for the upgraded outdoor spaces. The roof terraces had a limited loadbearing capacity that could not accommodate concrete paving and Luxura emerged as the ideal solution, allowing for top quality decking that remained well within structural limits.

High-rise riverside apartment building refurbishmentLocated on the banks of the River Thames, Ocean Wharf is a high-rise apartment building that can be subject to salt-water spray during high tide and windy days. Timber decking had previously been fitted on the balconies and had started to deteriorate, as well as being identified as a fire risk by the Fire Risk Assessor.A high-quality decking system was required to replace the existing balcony decking. The chosen solution needed to have a premium look and feel in line with the luxury standard of the development. Luxura, being A1 fire-rated and resistant to salt which could have affected other types of decking, was the ideal choice for this project. As the installer hadn’t installed non-combustible decking before, they required some on-site support from our team who were able to provide a toolbox talk and check ongoing progress. This resulted in a fantastic end result with the installation completed to a very high standard.“The material was completely new to us, so we were a bit hesitant at first. However, now that we have experienced it, we wouldn’t want to use anything else.” - Installer, Ocean Wharf

MyDek Ltd

Superb development with unique balconies and a wonderful roof terraceThis prestige development in the outskirts of thriving Manchester used the MyDek Vista board on our standard box rail and cleat support system. The Vox is an iconic looking development.Located at Cornbrook, a short walk away from Castlefield with its waterside bars and restaurants and convenient access to Deansgate through to the City Centre. You’re also just a quick Metrolink journey, or a canal path stroll, away from MediaCityUK, home to the city’s exciting media-hub and Quayside shopping outlet. Most of the balconies had triangular shaped balconies with multiple faceted angles. This meant that installation called for a lot of unique angled cuts with every board having a different length and mitred end. The installers did an excellent quality job and delivered an outstanding result."Would I recommend MyDek to others? 100% yes! Just through their sheer professionalism towards us and the other trades involved in the project. They helped us out a lot, they’ve been really useful to us…any problems we’ve had on site…they’ve done their very best, they’ve been first there to help us out. We couldn’t really ask any more from them." - Senior Site Manager, Graham Construction
