BRE (Building Research Establishment)
NIBE is a global group that develops and manufactures intelligent, energy-efficient indoor climate solutions for all types of properties and applications. It all started in Markaryd, in the Swedish county of Smaland, 70 years ago.
With over 40 years of heat pump manufacturing experience, NIBE are one of Europe's leading manufacturers in the domestic heating sector.
We offer high-tech solutions for heating, ventilation, cooling and heat recovery that reflect today's demand for sustainable construction.
Products
Ground Source Heat Pumps , Commercial & Residential
In 1997 NIBE launched its first ground source heat pump. The most diverse of its product range, NIBE offers ground source heat pumps ranging from 6 kW up to 60 kW.
NIBE's newest ground source range, the Sxx56, offers SCOP values up to a staggering 5.94, making it one of the most efficient heat pumps available anywhere. Available in 8, 13 & 18 kW outputs.
For those projects that require more output, NIBE offers the F1345 or F1355. The F1345 offers a fixed compressor output at 24, 30, 40 or 60 kW. The F1355 is an inverter controlled heat pump, allowing the heat pump to adapt to the property’s output requirements all year round. Available in 28 or 43 kW outputs.
Air Source Heat Pumps
NIBE launched its first air-water heat pump in 2002. Over 20 years later, NIBE is still manufacturing industry leading air source heat pumps. NIBE offers four outputs in its main F2040/F2050 range; 6, 10, 12, or 16 kW, including the option to cascade units for greater output. NIBE F2040/F2050 both use R32 refrigerant.
A small but elegant unit, the F2040/F2050 will help you meet the requirement for any air source project you are working on.
The NIBE S2125 is our flag ship air source heat pump. Using R290 propane refrigerant, the S2125 has a Global Warming Potential of just 3. Available in two outputs, 8 and 12 kW, the S2125 can deliver flow temperatures of up to 75°C.
A sleek design allows the S2125 to perform very quietly and still be our most efficient air source heat pump.
Exhaust Air Heat Pumps
NIBE's first heat pump was an exhaust air heat pump manufactured in 1981, backing the latest product up with over forty years of research & development. Exhaust air works by extracting stale air from the wet rooms in the home and fresh air from outdoors through a ducting system to drive the heat pump refrigeration process.
This allows the unit to provide heating, ventilation, heat recovery and hot water without the need for an outdoor unit, removing the barriers associated with air and ground source. Available in 4 & 7 kW outputs, the NIBE S735 Exhaust Air Heat Pump is ideal for new build flats, apartments and smaller properties.
Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery MVHR
Any NIBE heat pump can be combined with a ventilation system to provide you with heating, hot water and ventilation in the same system. The ventilation processes occurs as used, stale air is extracted from inside the property. This stale air has the heat extracted from it using the NIBE ERS (Energy Recovery System). The extracted heat energy is then mixed with cool, fresh air from outside resulting in warm, fresh air inside the property while the cold, stale air is deposited outside.
NIBE ERS systems use mechanical ventilation with heat recovery resulting in an all-in-one heating, hot water, and ventilation system when combined with the heat pump.
Air Source
Any NIBE Air Source heat pump can be combined with a NIBE ERS unit to create a heating, hot water, and ventilation system. The necessary ductwork would need to be installed to ensure the system operates.
Ground Source
Any NIBE Ground source heat pump can also be combined with a NIBE ERS unit to create a heating, hot water, and ventilation system. The necessary ductwork would need to be installed to ensure the system operates.
Exhaust Air
NIBE Exhaust Air heat pumps use ventilation as a core principle to operate. Combination of the refrigeration cycle and the ventilation process forms the foundation for how the heat pump operates. As such, exhaust air heat pumps have ventilation built into the system and don't require an extra unit such as the ERS.
Hot Water Cylinders
NIBE offers hot water cylinders and buffer vessels as part of its product range. Some heat pumps, such as the S735 exhaust air and some ground source units, have built-in hot water cylinders. Air source heat pumps require a separate cylinder. If a greater hot water capacity is required then additional cylinders can be added to a heating & hot water system.
Photo-voltaic Thermal (PV-T Collectors)
PV-T panels are equipped with PV cells at the front that convert sunlight into electricity. The rear consists of a thermal heat exchanger that extracts energy from the ambient air that is heated under the panels by daylight and sunlight. The operation of the heat exchanger is therefore comparable to that of an air/water heat pump, without the requirement of a mechanical fan. A PVT system therefore works 100% silently.
Even on cloudy days and at night – without direct heating of sunlight and even at temperatures below freezing, the heat exchanger provides sufficient heat supply for the heat pump. In warmer months the heat extracted by the collector helps cool the PV aperture surface, improving generation efficiency.
PV-T panels can be combined with a ground source heat pump to act as a collector. This replaces the need for conventional groundwork and removes a lot of the barriers associated with ground source technology.
Smart Home Sensors
NIBE smart accessories connect with and get the most out of our S-Series heat pump range, allowing further capability to improve indoor comfort whilst consuming less energy.
Remote Performance Monitoring & Diagnostics Platforms
Any NIBE heat pump can be connected to the myUplink app, offering remote control and monitoring from a user’s smart phone or tablet. myUplink has various features such as adapting to weather forecasting, voice control, IFTTT control, control additional accessories and gain access to historical data & alarms about the heat pump.
Installers and housing providers can also access myUplink PRO, allowing for remote diagnostics and additional settings, giving much greater control over the homeowners heat pump.
