Castle Court in Sheffield was originally constructed in 1962 by Sheffield City Council. Comprising of three-hundred and three apartments in a single apartment block, this project was a massive investment for the area at the time. NorDan alu-clad StormGuard windows had been selected as part of the regeneration works in 1991 and to this very day, the windows are still in excellent working condition – there has not been a single call back on any of the products installed. This is a true testament to the fact that NorDan windows are, and always have been, exceptionally high performing.

Lewisham Homes is helping to deliver an exciting new residential project thanks to almost £19m of grant funding awarded by the Mayor of London. The Home Park and Edward Street developments are set to provide much needed social housing for Lewisham Council and continue recent work to deliver affordable homes for the borough with a greater environmental focus and in quicker, more efficient timescales.In total, 65 new homes will be created across the 2 sites, with Home Park, in Sydenham, consisting of 31 new family homes that will be used as rented social accommodation. The Edward Street development in Deptford will be made up of 34 family homes for temporary accommodation. This site will also feature ground-floor retail units, a small urban square, and other public spaces.NorDan has been chosen as an approved off-site supplier for both projects, engaging in early design work as well as supplying a diverse range of windows and doors products for each development.Caledonian Modular will be delivering the buildings at Home Park and Edward Street through Precision Manufactured Housing construction. In addition to a wealth of experience in the OSM industry, NorDan was able to provide an unmatched, genuine certified product mix that could not be achieved from a single alternative manufacturer – from neither uPVC nor composite suppliers.NorDan was initially approached to supply high-performance tilt & turn windows, but as discussions progressed, the client became aware of the other product features and specifications available from the NorDan product offering. A third Lewisham development at Burnt Ash Hill is currently in the design phase and will consist of 47 new homes for social rent.As well as front-end product manufacturing, NorDan are also able to offer a complete standardisation of any aftersales product requirements. This includes ancillary items such as handles and vents. Manchester New Square is a highly innovative urban project in Manchester City Centre. What makes Manchester New Square particularly interesting is that it has been constructed using off-site manufacturing and that is why NorDan were the perfect supplier for this development. As we own all of our factories, we have complete control over production schedules and we can cope with the tight, demanding schedules that off-site manufacturing requires. Our product also comes as a full set, complete with ironmongery and glass, so that they can be fitted straight into the concrete panels and moved onto site.

Our client Pocket Living had the vision to refurbish and transform the 1920’s industrial office building of Astra House in Arklow Road, London into 44 affordable homes. NorDan products were the perfect choice for a refurbishment development like this one. Our fixed light windows allow extensive use of large glass areas and particular architectural styles. Additionally, NorDan fully reversible windows offer extra safety assurance, with integrated child safety restrictors that locks the hinge to operate in the ventilation position only.
