Chester residential refurbishment
vertix systems
This was refurbishment of an existing kitchen and garage extension that had a flat shingle roof and brick wall construction. Built in the early 1980s, the extension had little insulation and the kitchen was permanently cold. The client was keen for the extension look contemporary and complement the 100 year old house and also to improve thermal performance of the kitchen area roof and walls and upstairs elevation.New wood trusses were installed to make kitchen and garage roofs the same level and a mix of loose wool and rigid insulation was used to significantly improve thermal performance.EasySeam flat profile standing seam roof system (dark grey) was fitted to the roof and and EasySeam Soffit profile (dark grey) on the kitchen exterior walls. Additionally, the first floor side elevation above the kitchen/garage which had previously been finished with a white render was over-clad with EasySeam soffit profile (stone grey).Client commented:-“We used EasySeam standing seam roof System to reclad a flat roof kitchen and garage extension that had failed and looked unsightly. We also took the opportunity to wrap the exterior kitchen walls in insulation and fit EasySeam soffit boards over this. The technical support we received from Vertix Systems was second to none and the ordering process was easy. Both the soffit boards and standing seam have given our home a more contemporary appearance- mixing old and new beautifully.”
