Self adhesive Class B reaction to fire window, door, and structural waterproofing seal supplied as an EPDM alternative.
ARBO® FR-RS can be applied on various materials such as glass, steel, concrete, stone, wood, and aluminium.
ARBO® FR-RS is a high performance, self-adhesive EPDM alternative which has a Class B reaction to fire classification. This innovative ARBO® FR-RS is manufactured using a high quality elastomeric modified butyl tape.
ARBO® FR-RS achieves a Class B-s1-d0 reaction to fire classification and creates an airtight and fire safe detail around windows, door frames and structural openings.
For ease of installation, it comes with a split release liner on the self-adhesive side to assist with installation onto the substrates. The split is positioned 30 mm from the edge.
Features and benefits:
The self-adhesive properties of FR-RS require the product to be 'squashed' during application. This means the product should be rollered using a silicone hand roller, and a 'penny roller' for internal corner details. This ensures excellent adhesion onto the substrate with the FR-RS following the profile of the substrate. Where adhering to an aggregate rich (rough) concrete surface this is particularly important to ensure a fully watertight seal is achieved.
The self-adhesive properties of FR-RS are fully activated by pressure, therefore firm application is an essential part of the installation process. The result is a fully watertight and air tight seal around any external structural opening.
FR-RS is probably one of the easiest ways to seal windows and door openings without the associated mess and cost of traditional pasted EPDM systems with the added benefit of achieving a Class B reaction to fire.
