A high performance breather membrane with a Class B reaction to fire, W1 water penetration resistance, airtight, and highly moisture vapour permeable.
ARBOShield Pro Class B W1 Breather Membrane is suitable for light steel frame / SFS walling applications, in particular high-rise and high-risk buildings where fire performance is required.
Installed in a traditional manner ARBOShield Pro Class B W1 Breather Membrane and fix directly to the sheathing board. ARBOShield Pro Class A W1 Breather Membrane should be secured to the substrate using appropriate fixings, usually stainless steel staples. Fixings should be no more than 600mm across the horizontal plane and 500mm vertically. All laps around windows or structural openings should be sealed using ARBOShield Pro Class B overlap tape.
ARBOShield Pro Class B W1 Breather Membrane should be installed with a least a 100mm lap horizontally starting at the bottom of the sheathing board, working upwards to ensure the upper layer overlaps the lower layer, therefore protecting the substrate from water runoff.
Any fixing brackets for the facade or cladding should be installed as per manufacturers’ instructions and care should be taken around the interface between the breather membrane and fixing bracket. Any tears or cuts in the membrane should be repaired with ARBOShield Pro Class B overlap tape to maintain a waterproof and airtight installation.
ARBOShield Pro Class B W1 Breather Membrane is suitable for use in all light steel frame / SFS type walling applications, especially high-rise and high-risk buildings such as schools, hospitals, care homes and residential blocks, where fire performance is required.
ARBOShield Pro Class B W1 Breather Membrane can also be used for timber frame or modular off-site construction. The composition of ARBOShield Pro Class B W1 Breather Membrane helps limit the spread of fire across a façade with limited risk of smoke or burning droplets in a fire situation.
Features and benefits:
*ARBOShield Pro Class B W1 breather membrane must be applied to a Class A substrate material to maintain the Class B reaction to fire classification.
