Attachment

Loose laid (and suitably ballasted).

Guidance for specification option:

  • Setting out: Loose lay insulation directly over the capping sheet to brick pattern with staggered joints. Minimize cutting and avoid small pieces at perimeters and penetrations. Dependent upon the total thickness required, it may be necessary to construct the insulation using two layers of board. The manufacturer/supplier can advise on the available combination options.
  • Joints: Butt together.
  • Loading over inverted insulation (minimum): Ballast (landscaping) should be installed onto the Bauder WFRL Membrane (Water Flow Reducing Layer) to a minimum depth required to achieve a permanent minimum 80 kg/m² and load which prevents wind uplift and flotation of the insulation in high winds and/or heavy rainfall.
  • Additional loading at perimeters: On high buildings in more exposed areas, wind uplift may be a problem and in these instances paving slab ballast must be considered. Paving slabs should be a minimum of 50 mm thick. The slabs should be laid on paving slab supports of minimum 175 mm diameter (or equivalent base area).
  • All final details must to be confirmed with Bauder before proceeding.

Bauder rainwater outlets.

Guidance for specification option:

Bauder has a range of insulated or stainless-steel rainwater outlets.

The insulated outlets can be used for maintaining thermal continuity at drainage points. Suitable for warm, cold and inverted roof construction, the high thermal value of the rigid foam body prevents condensation from forming on the underside of the outlet.

Designed for use when connecting to conventional drainage systems, with excellent flow rate performance and is suitable for both new build and refurbishment projects. Outlets are included in the Bauder waterproofing system guarantee as they are integrated components.

Flow rate figures (where applicable) are based on BS EN 12056:3:2000, typically taken using a 35 mm header of water including leaf grille:

  • Bauder Bitumen Compact Vertical Outlet DN100: Insulated internal outlet, 6.1 L/s.
  • Bauder Bitumen Vertical Outlet DN70: Insulated internal outlet, 7.1 L/s.
  • Bauder Bitumen Vertical Outlet DN150: Insulated internal outlet, 7.2 L/s.
  • Bauder Bitumen Letterbox Parapet Outlet DN 205 including stainless-steel leaf guard, 2.02 L/s.
