Application

For residential applications. Suitable for ceiling use.

Description

Hinged loft hatch. Designed with a slim and contemporary frame, this hatch features a flat lid and is equipped with compression seals to eliminate draughts between the frame and lid. When closed, the lid securely compresses against the draught seals, ensuring optimal insulation. Made from white injection moulded plastic, this loft hatch requires no decorating or maintenance.

Choose from three insulation options: the PD35 offers 55 mm insulation (U Value 0.35 W/m²K), PD25 provides 100 mm EPS insulation (U Value 0.25 W/m²K) and PD15 provides 150 mm EPS (U Value 0.15 W/m²K).

Size: 560 x 760mm to suit 600mm joist centres. Overall size from outside edge to outside edge of frame 628 x 828mm.

The loft hatch has undergone UKAS accredited air infiltration tests, which confirm compliance without the need for additional sealant to the external frame. Additionally, the loft hatch insulation is CFC and HCFC-free, with an ODP (ozone depletion potential) rating of zero. It also complies with The Code for Sustainable Homes standards, with a GWP (global warming potential) rating of less than 5 (standing at zero).

Fitting information: The loft hatch is designed for easy DIY installation. The frame comes with pre-formed screw holes, simplifying the fitting process.

Compatibility with loft ladders: The loft hatches are compatible with Access Building Products' entire range of loft ladders. Please note that due to the increased insulation depth of the PD15, a minimum distance of 250 mm deep joists or timber plant combination is required for ladder installation. If the distance is less, you may need to raise the ladder fixing point using a timber plant.

Features and benefits:

  • User-friendly design.
  • Meets NHBC compliance standards, ensuring a minimum clear opening of 520 mm in any direction.
  • Maintenance-free and guaranteed not to discolour over time.
  • The hinged lid is positioned on the short side of the frame; to open, twist the catch and lower the lid downwards.
  • Fitted with draught seals, the loft hatch guarantees airtightness, preventing unwanted air leakage and maintaining energy efficiency.
