Application

Typical applications:

Fabreeka-TIM®:

Steel grade plate for moment connections.

  • Balconies.
  • Balustrades.
  • Canopies.
  • End beams.
  • Rooftop dunnage posts.
  • Cold storage.

  • Parapets, soffits, roof to wall transitions.
  • Steel stud exterior walls, facades.
  • Masonry ties.
  • Concrete and precast joints.
  • Metal building framing.
  • Cladding attached support clips for Z-girts, C-channels and Hat channels.

Fabreeka-TIM® RF Series, for light structural loads in compression:

  • Structural column bases, especially vital in cold storage/freezer facilities.
  • Tank isolation block - reduces condensation by thermally isolating cooling equipment from its supporting structure.
  • Roof equipment and dunnage post support block – supports HVAC, fans, davits, anchors and other heavy equipment on building roofs while preventing heat transfer to the building interior.
  • Foundation connections, i.e. slab to foundation, foundation to wall.

Description

Fabreeka-TIM® Structural Thermal Break is a composite resin glass fibre reinforced plastic (GFRP) with an unrivalled combination of high compressive strength and low thermal conductivity. Independent laboratory testing has been carried out by various testing establishments including The British Board of Agrément (BBA) and the Building Research Establishment (BRE), this has been verified by the Steel Construction Institute (SCI) with design guidance for the available thicknesses of 6.4 mm (¼ in), 12.7 mm (½ in), 19.1 mm (¾ in), 25.4 mm (1 in) and 50.8 mm (2 in).

Features and benefits:

  • Maintains structural integrity in moment connections.
  • Minimizes energy transfer.
  • Helps to achieve LEED credits.
  • Lot control – repeatable, certified product every time.
  • Long Term Creep to ASTM D299 16.8% (12.7 mm) and 35.6% (25.4 mm).
  • Creep (from 0 to 100 hrs) to ASTM D299 12.2% (12.7 mm) and 22.3% (25.4 mm).
  • Design Creep Allowance to ASTM D299 15.5% (12.7 mm) and 28.3% (25.4 mm).

Fabreeka-TIM® LT15 material reduces thermal bridging or energy flow paths through highly conductive building components in the envelope design of many different building types.

Designed for light load applications with up to 1,500 psi loading, Fabreeka-TIM® LT15 serves as thermal break material which prevents thermal bridging and improves energy efficiency when incorporating sustainable elements into your building envelope. Applications range from facade support brackets and clips to metal building framing.

Fabreeka-TIM® LT15 material provides better thermal insulation than vinyl and plastics, reduces corrosion between dissimilar metal elements, and is made from recycled materials, which helps to achieve LEED credits.

Features and benefits:

  • Light load – up to 1,500 psi for cladding attachment support clips and metal building framing.
  • Optional adhesive backing for easier installation.
  • Providing energy savings with high return on investment.

Fabreeka-TIM® RF is a high density, closed cell rigid polyurethane foam used as an effective thermal break for a variety of building envelope and cold storage applications. It is manufactured in several densities to support a range of load conditions. Fabreeka-TIM® RF properties make it impermeable by any type of liquid, including water and most solvents, thus suited for moisture, severe weather conditions or harsh environments. Additionally, it is resistant to mechanical stress and has exceptional insulating qualities which makes it a valuable asset to reduce thermal bridging in building envelope connections and cold storage applications. For optimal thermal break performance, the area around the fastener hardware should be taken into consideration. In addition to the Fabreeka-TIM® RF block, Fabreeka recommends Fabreeka-TIM® thermal break washers and bushings made from Fabreeka® material.

Features and benefits:

  • Made in the USA.
  • Used to achieve LEED certification.
  • Cost effective solution for low load structural connections in Lightweight, strong and durable.
  • Three densities to meet different load conditions.
  • Thicknesses range from 1/2” to 10” in 1/2”,1” or 2” increments as standard. More bespoke sizes are available for larger quantities.
  • Fast delivery.
  • Custom waterjet cut to your specification, including anchor bolt holes.
  • Time savings – products arrive at the site ready to use.
  • ISO certified company.
  • Lot control.
  • Creep resistant – resists deformation under load over time.
  • Closed cell material is impervious to water and other liquids.
  • Does not promote steel corrosion.
  • Functions in subgrade applications without rotting or dissolving.
  • Does not attract or sustain bugs or pests.
  • No release of chemical compounds into surrounding soil.
  • Compatible with concrete, grouts and adhesive.
