Nullifire FV050 small ventilated cavity barrier consists of an encapsulated rigid intumescent band used to prevent the spread of fire for up to 120 minutes in small cavities with a 50 mm air gap.

Application

  • Mechanically fixed within horizontal and vertical in shallow uninsulated cavities up to 50 mm wide to allow a ventilation and drainage gap.
  • High suited to timber framed construction, masonry, drained render systems and external planked weatherboards.

Description

A fire-rated product designed to act as an external wall cavity barrier at the junction of compartment floors, within uninsulated cavities. Third party tested and proven to reinstate the fire resistance performance within “open state” external wall cavities for periods up to 120 minutes, for both integrity and insulation to the principles of ASFP TGD 19 guidance.


Ventilated design – developed to allow maximum ventilation of cavities reducing the need for cavity trays or weep holes. Suitable for “open-state” ventilated cavities up to 50 mm wide.


Provided in strips 1 m long, 75 mm wide and 6 mm thick lightweight - designed to be easily and quickly installed. No maintenance is required after installation.

Guidance for specification option:

In strict accordance with the manufacturers Technical Data Sheet, Test Data and separately available detailed NBS Product Specification. The principal designer must approve the use of any cavity barrier, whether open-state or full-fill, in conjunction with the products fire classification reports, taking full account of the whole construction of the external wall systems and the components, including any requirements of the Building Regulations and Warranty provider standards. Ensure the installation area is free from dust, oil and any corrosive material.


Check the mounting substrate is solid and free from cracks and degradation before beginning.
