Fire rated product designed to be used as a cavity barrier up to 65 mm uninsulated cavity within external walls. Encapsulated in a polythene barrier & made from a flexible intumescent material.
Used as cavity fire barrier to the compartmentation lines in an uninsulated cavity behind external walls consisting of natural stone masonry, brickwork or blockwork outer substrates and a framed and sheathed backing wall such as Timber Frame.
FV065 Roll is also suitable for use around window and door openings, even where differential movement is factor and where a friction or compression fit alternatives may not be entirely desirable due to the possibility of deformation of a full fill NVFB during settlement.
FV065 Roll is specially designed and made from a flexible material, allowing it to be packed and applied as intumescent material on a easy to use roll.
With a thickness of only 6 mm, the low profile design offers significant space and labour saving over traditional cavity socks, whilst also ensuring the external uninsulated cavity is left unobstructed and free to ventilate. It is also covered with a protective layer of polythene for ease of handling and to protect it from water.
FV065 intumescent material will expand to close the external wall cavity, providing effective fire resistance, for integrity and insulation for 60 minutes* depending upon the construction of the external wall cavity.
FV065 is designed to close off a total cavity of 65 mm which allows for building tolerances of up to 15 mm (above the typical maximum cavity ventilation requirements of 50 mm).
