Application

Fully tested sound insulation system suitable for use in refurbishment, conversion and new build developments where a beam and block structure is in place.

HD1047 Hush System Underscreed B/B can be used in domestic, commercial and public building projects.

Description

The HD1047 Hush System Underscreed B/B is a fully tested economical sound insulation system for separating floors constructed using beam and block with a screed finish.

The system utilises a rubber membrane which is installed under the screed to help reduce impact and airborne noise transmission and the system is suitable for both new build and refurbishment or renovation projects.

How the HD1047 system is formed:

  • Hush Underscreed 8 Acoustic Membrane is installed over the beam and block structure. Ensure the Hush Underscreed is installed as per the installation guide.
  • The screed is then laid over the the Hush Underscreed Membrane. No screed should bridge the beam and block construction.
  • The perimeters of the screed are then isolated using the Hush RD Flanking Strip.
  • The Hush MF Ceiling is then installed to the underside of the beam and block construction. Ensure a 150mm void is created from the underside of the beam and block to the back of the plasterboard lining.
  • Hush Slab 100 Sound Absorbers are then fitted within the Hush MF Ceiling System. A double layer of 12.5mm Soundbloc Plasterboard is fitted to the underside of the Hush MF Ceiling System.

Features and benefits:

  • For use in refurbishment, conversion and new build developments where a beam and block structure is in place.
  • Building Regulations Approved Document E (England & Wales), Technical Handbook Section 5 (Scotland) and Technical Handbook G (Northern Ireland) compliant.
