Hush Seal 20 - Acoustic Seal

Hush Seal 20 is a compressible solid foam tube perimeter seal for use as part of an acoustic floor, ceiling or wall system.

It is an essential part of any acoustic design to ensure the issue of flanking is avoided. This is the issue of sound by-passing the main insulation materials to 'leak' through gaps, including those at the perimeters.

Hush Seal 20 is particularly valuable when installing floating floors. It is designed to be friction-fitted into a 10-15mm gap around the perimeter of the floor, effectively sealing it to the walls and preventing sound transmission. 

How to use Hush Seal 20 for a floating floor

Prepare the Area

Lay the Hush acoustic flooring within each room, leaving a 10-15mm perimeter gap around all walls, partitions, pipes, and fixed objects.

Seal the Perimeter

Neatly press the Hush Seal 20 into the perimeter gaps, ensuring an airtight seal is achieved between the flooring and the walls.

Ensure Skirting Clearance

Make sure the skirting board is installed with a minimum 3mm clearance above the floor surface, ensuring it does not touch the top of the flooring system.

Maintain Isolation

The finished floor should float freely on its resilient layer, isolated from walls, door linings, skirtings, pipes, and other points of contact.

Hush Seal 20 is supplied in multiples of 10 lm or cartons of 350 lm.
