Application

Use Millboard decking for all standard outdoor flooring applications (e.g. in residential, commercial, education, healthcare, leisure and hospitality) including:

  • Ground level terraces/ patios;
  • Roof level terraces;
  • Balconies (subject to Building Control);
  • Podium decks;
  • Public spaces/ areas;
  • Pathways;
  • Boardwalks;
  • Pool surrounds;
  • Jetties/ pontoons/ marinas.

Millboard can be used as the decorative face for most outdoor designs, as long as it is fixed to a structural element.

Installation:

For all applications Millboard decking boards to be installed with a 4 mm gap between the boards and a 1 mm gap at butt ends, to facilitate drainage. There is no need for a ventilation gap to be left under Millboard decking boards. The maximum unsupported overhang for the boards is 50 mm, each cut board must be supported by a minimum of three joists. Each board must be screwed down with 2 x Millboard Durafix® stainless steel screw fixings where a board crosses a joist, and 3 x Millboard Durafix® stainless steel screw fixings at the ends of the boards.

Ground level application (soft surface):

Millboard decking boards installed over DuoSpan 99 mm Joists and Beams, Beams supported by Plas-Pro Posts concreted into the ground. Installed with DuoSpan brackets to the recommendations set out in installation guide found on manufacturers website.

Hard surfaces application (roof terrace, concrete base):

Millboard decking boards installed over DuoSpan Joists, Joists supported by DuoLift joists supports onto a solid/stable base. Installed with DuoSpan brackets to the recommendations set out in installation guide found on manufacturers website.

Joist spacing:

The Lasta-Grip boards need to be supported at 400 mm centres for residential applications, for commercial applications, bridges, balconies and steps this needs to be reduced to 300 mm centres.

Description

The Lasta-Grip® collection combines the attractive appearance of our Enhanced Grain boards with a unique textured design that offers outstanding slip-resistance, without the rough feel of conventional gritted strip boards. Perfect for commercial areas where safety is paramount, but appearance is important.

The structural core of Millboard decking is a blend of natural minerals bonded in a polymer resin, with long fibre reinforcement for mechanical strength and durability. The top surface is a textured, resilient Lastane® layer which is chemically melded to the core and hand-tinted using 2K component pigments that resist fading and UV damage.

Features and benefits:

  • Hand moulded and coloured - Skilfully hand-crafted to ensure a high quality, premium product.
  • Natural wood look - Moulded from selected oak for an organic, realistic wood-grain appearance.
  • UK made, UK backed - Designed and manufactured in the UK, tested independently globally.
  • Recycled materials - Recycled materials and renewable biopolymers are used within our boards.
  • Integrated UV stabilizers - UV stabilized for better performance and fade resistance over time.
  • Wood free - Wood free composition prevents rot, warping and insect infestation.
  • Low maintenance - No staining or oiling needed. Only seasonal cleaning required.
  • ‘Lost-head’ fixings - Durafix fixings are virtually hidden beneath the unique Lastane surface.
  • Soft-touch surface - Unique Lastane layer means no splinters on the surface.
  • Mould resistant - Unlike wood, it is actively resistant to mould and fungus.
  • High slip-resistance - Lower slip potential than wood due to the pliable Lastane layer.
  • Moisture resistant - Due to the non-porous composition, no sealing is required.
  • Maximum durability - Fibre reinforced core provides strength and durability whilst reducing weight.
