Application

Can typically be installed above the existing roof surface (with a waterproofing membrane) in refurbishment applications.

Description

Proteus Pro-Therm HP PIR used either stand alone or with tapered or flat board insulation as a premium performance board, providing a slim solution for use on new and existing roofs with timber or concrete decks.

Features and benefits:

  • Available in flat and tapered cut to falls designs.
  • Reduces insulation thicknesses.
  • Can eliminate the need for a structural fall, when used in conjunction with tapered insulation.
  • Offers a number of practical advantages to both specifiers and installers.
  • Easy to handle.
  • Can typically be installed above the existing roof surface (with a waterproofing membrane) in refurbishment applications.
  • Helps to minimize the overall system thickness required to achieve a desired U-value.
  • Thickness savings upwards of 20 mm may be achieved, dependent on the individual system build-up when compared with a standard Proteus Pro-Therm Roof Design Scheme.

Recyclability

While current PIR insulation recycling process is complex, innovative methods are emerging that promise greater reusability and efficient energy recovery. Usually - at the end of serviceable life of PIR insulation - disposal to landfill, energy recovery via incineration, or a mixture of both methods seem most commonly practiced.
