Lightweight glass reinforced concrete panel (GRC).
Rainscreen Façade panel
Referred to as Fibre C, (Glassfibre concrete) with a textured, concrete like surface, one of the key benefits of this GRC product is its capability at maintaining a thickness of only 13 mm and a weight of 30 kg/m²
Fibre C is an acronym of these words 'glassfibre' and 'concrete', a term coined by Rieder to describe its product material composition.
This concrete panel offers class A1 fire resistance, long-term durability and is CWCT and BBA certified.
Two layers of glass fibre mesh run through the concrete panel which enables the concrete panel to be only 13 mm thick but incredibly robust.
With other pre-cast and GRC products having thicknesses ranging from 20–200 mm, Pura Facades can supply the UK market with 13 mm thick panels – therefore falling in line with standard ventilated façade panels and fixing systems.
The weight of the panels are 30–32 kg/m². This thinner and lightweight concrete panel offers logistical advantages as the concrete panels are easier and more lightweight to transport to site, plus with the reduced thickness of the concrete, the steel framing can also be lighter, making projects more cost-effective. It also means from a holistic engineering viewpoint Rieder’s Fibre C material requires a significantly less primary structure to carry the loading of the concrete panels.
