Glass fibre fabric FR breather membrane, vapour permeable, airtight and watertight, used on the exterior side of lightweight steel framed systems. Includes associated tapes.
Application
Surebreathe A1 breather membrane is suitable for:
- Use in new builds and in refurbishment projects.
- As a base layer in a rainscreen facade applied directly to the external sheathing board.
- Enclosed facades e.g. masonry, decorative cement panels or similar.
- Application within high rise buildings, timber frame construction, public buildings and off-site construction.
Surebreathe A1 is typically used over Euroform external sheathing boards or other substrates with a reaction to fire of at least Class A2-s1,d0. The overlapping seams and perimeter edges are sealed with Euroform Surebreathe Joint Tape.
Class A1 Reaction to Fire according to BS EN 13501-1, mechanically fixed direct to any substrate with a minimum fire classification of A2-s1, d0, a minimum thickness ≥ 9 mm and a density ≥ 525 kg/m³. Including horizontal and vertical overlaps sealed with Surebreathe tape.
Class A2-s1, d0 Reaction to Fire according to BS EN 13501-1, mechanically fixed direct to any insulation with a minimum fire classification of A2-s1, d0, a minimum thickness ≥20 mm and a density ≥ 37.5kg/m³. Including horizontal and vertical overlaps sealed with Surebreathe tape.
Description
Euroform Surebreathe A1 FR Breather Membrane is a monolithic glass fibre-reinforced breather membrane that achieves a Class A1 Reaction to Fire according to BS EN 13501-1. Surebreathe A1 is highly suited to applications in buildings that have been classified as "Relevant Buildings" as defined in Approved Document B, April 2019. Often used in conjunction with Euroform external sheathing boards on the outside of a light gauge steel frame to provide a fully compatible and integrated protection wrap around the external backing wall.
