OVERVIEW
Working on our home turf, Lionweld Kennedy were contracted by Middlesbrough Football Club to design, fabricate and supply vital walkways, handrails, press platforms and vomitory stairs.
It is vital for clubs such as Middlesbrough FC to have accessible and safe walkways due to the crowds which can be expected.
Opened in August 1995, the now 34,742 capacity stadium, was built in only 32 weeks. At the time it was the biggest new football stadium to be built since the war.
Along with the Transporter and Newport bridges, the Riverside Stadium is one of the landmarks of the Middlesbrough skyline.
Lionweld Kennedy are based in Middlesbrough, with many members of our team supporting the club, therefore we were more than excited to get started on the work for the stadium.
