OVERVIEW
REQUIREMENT:
The project involved upgrading an aging wooden ramp, which was no longer safe for use, to a compliant steel Rapid Ramp System.
The new system was designed to have the strength necessary to support electrically operated wheelchairs, provide stability for users to reduce the risk of falls and slips, and include handrails that conformed to the specifications outlined in BS 6180:2011.
DESIGN PHASE:
Our in-house design team produced a detailed 3D model and 2D plan, providing the customer with comprehensive visualisations of the project. These were included with their quotation.
INSTALLATION:
Following the disassembly of the wooden ramp, our team completed the Rapid Ramp project in just two days during the summer holidays, ensuring it was ready on schedule for the new school year.
By the end of the first day, the entire ramp installation was successfully finished, with the second day dedicated to evenly spreading the rubber crumb material across the walkway surface to enhance safety and comfort for all users.
