This metal roof in Warwick was suffering from cut-edge corrosion, delamination of the factory finish, and spot corrosion.The specification called for a full liquid roof coating in Merlin Grey, which Liquasil was able to supply for installation by Nadco Roofing Services. This asbestos cement roof in Birmingham was soiled and in need of remediation.Nadco Roofing Services ensured that the roof was cleaned with all waste water being filtered to 2 microns prior to the application of Liquasil's BBA Approved Asbestoseal 20 asbestos roof coating system.The full system involved priming the metal fixings with our SWT Primer, before sealing the fixings and any cracks in the roof using our Non-Sag Sealer.Once dry, the roof can then be seamlessly coated using Asbestoseal which comes with a 20-year product guarantee and leaves an old asbestos cement roof looking revitalised and brand new.
Cut Edge Corrosion Treatment using BBA Approved Flexlap from Liquasil Ltd

Liquasil's BBA Approved cut edge corrosion treatment was specified for use on this metal roof on an industrial unit in central Birmingham. Liquasil SWT Primer was first applied to all rusted areas. SWT stands for "Surface and Wet Tolerant" meaning that it can be applied to wet and rusted surfaces. The primed areas were then coated with Liquasil's Flexlap - a purpose made silicone polymer coating to provide total protection from further lap corrosion.

Metal Roof and Gutter Coating - Well Lane, Wolverhampton

Liquasil's BBA Approved Metalseal 20 roof coating and Gutterseal system were specified for use on the Airspace Trampoline Park in Wolverhampton. The whole roof was pressure washed and a historical cut-edge corrosion treatment was removed before application; the cut-edges were treated with our SWT Corrosion Primer, with additional reinforcement to the mid-laps through the installation of Liquasil's optional HP Butyl Tape.The whole roof was then coated with Metalseal 20 in Goosewing Grey at a filmweight of c. 300 microns to provide a protective, aesthetically pleasing finish.The gutters were cleaned out and dried before being primed with our SWT Corrosion Primer. Once touch-dry, the joints could then be sealed using our Non-Sag Sealer and a single coat of Liquasil One was applied to the entire gutter. Liquasil One can be immediately applied over the top of Non-Sag Sealer, meaning no time is wasted waiting for it to cure before the works can continue.The end result was a revitalised metal roof with a protective, water-resistant coating that is guaranteed for 20 years.
Asbestos Roof & Cladding Refurbishment Coating

The asbestos cement roof was first cleaned using a closed box pressure washer. All waste was filtered and disposed of by a licensed asbestos disposal contractor.
Metal fixings were treated with Liquasil SWT Corrosion Primer and then sealed, along with small cracks and holes, with Non-Sag Sealer before the roof was coated with Asbestoseal 20.
The project included GRP rooflight replacement and new ridge detail and flashings.
Asbestos roof coating project in Haverhill

This was the first asbestos roof coating project undertaken with Liquasil products, back in 2013.
The roof was heavily soiled and was cleaned using a DOFF steam cleaning machine, delivering 150°c steam to completely kill moss and lichen spores.
The metal fixings were treated with Liquasil's corrosion primer and sealed with Non-Sag Sealer before the whole roof was coated with Asbestoseal, the only BBA Approved asbestos roof coating.
Cut Edge Corrosion Treatment, Wirral

This metal roof had already been treated with a well known cut edge corrosion system, which had begun to fail in multiple areas due to water becoming trapped between the overlapping roof sheets, which had been sealed with silicone sealant.
Flexlap system is made from a specially hardened silicone, designed to resist environmental dirt pick-up as well as providing a much smoother finish.
Liquasil does not recommend that the gap between overlapping roof sheets is sealed.
Any moisture that might be present can escape or evaporate naturally, which is how built-up steel profile roofs are designed to work.

The asbestos cement roof to this industrial unit in Hereford was heavily contaminated with moss and lichen and was leaking in numerous places.
The moss and other vegetation was first dampened down, scraped off and placed into designated asbestos waste bags for licensed disposal.
The roof was then steam cleaned. All metal fixings were treated with Liquasil's rust primer and sealed with Non-Sag Sealer.
Small holes and cracks were sealed with Non-Sag Sealer.
The entire roof was then coated with Asbestsoeal 20 and is now resistant to moss growth and water leaks.

This project, to coat approximately 2000 sq metres of asbestos roof with the BBA Approved Asbestsoeal system is a lesson for all in correct health and safety.
Liquasil provides all approved installers with H&S training as standard. This deals with correct use of netting, scaffold, walkways, work platforms and waste water filtration from asbestos roof cleaning.
Having already completed 500sq metres on a unit a year previously, the contractor was invited back to complete the rest of the block, which is the best possible endorsement.

This project involved sealing a metal gutter in Glasgow.
Leaks were present at most of the steel profile joints and rust was evident throughout.
Heavy rust and soiling was first removed and then the entire length of the gutter was treated with Liquasil's corrosion primer, to prevent further rusting.

The end laps and mid laps to this ageing metal roof were affected by cut edge corrosion.

Where sheets overlapped, the bottom sheet was masked off as this does not usually require treatment under the Liquasil system, which was designed by Chartered Building Surveyors.

Valley gutters with limited access on fragile asbestos cement roofs are always difficult to maintain and repair.
A liquid gutter liner is often the only solution in cases like this and none are easier than Liquasil’s Gutterseal system.
The metal gutter was first cleaned and dried, then treated with a coat of Liquasil’s corrosion treatment before being over-coated with Liquasil one liquid gutter liner.

This project involved the removal of the existing factory finish to an industrial unit in the West Midlands, followed by cut edge corrosion treatment and full roof & parapet coating.
Once the original finish had been removed using high pressure jet washing, all of the end laps to the roof sheets were coated with SWT (Surface & Wet Tolerant) corrosion primer, to prevent further rusting.
Once cured, the roof was coated with the BBA Approved Metalseal 20 to a film thickness of approx 300 microns.
