A permanently UV-stable highly reflective air and water-tight breather membrane to provide protection to the built-up wall layers in a closed or partially open façade.
ME050 is suitable for:
ME050 can be applied over non-combustible insulation or more typically directly over sheathing boards or other substrates with a reaction to fire of at least Class A2-s1,d0. The overlapping seams and perimeter edges are sealed with illbruck ME355 FR Sealing Tape. In addition, illbruck SP025 Fire Membrane Adhesive may also be used to provide an enhanced air and water-tight connection to adjacent walls and floor junctions in certain complex details.
illbruck ME050 FR Breather Membrane is a monolithic reflective air, watertight and UV stable Aluminium foil-faced and glass fibre reinforced breather membrane that achieves a Class A2-s1,d0 Reaction to Fire according to BS EN 13501-1. ME050 is highly suited to applications in buildings that have been classified as "Relevant Buildings" as defined in Approved Document B, April 2019. Often used in conjunction with other illbruck slit-to-width interface sealing membranes at window and door openings or other linear joints to provide fully compatible and integrated building protection wrap around the external backing wall in a framed and sheathed construction.

Execution | Manufacturer guidanceillbruck ME050 FR Breather Membrane (Alu) A2,W1 is unfurled and applied directly from the log to the substrates. The membrane is secured with tape to the structure and overlapping seams to create a homogenous and continuous protection layer. Applications should start from the bottom of the building and work upwards overlapping subsequent horizontal and vertical layers by a minimum of 100 mm. Perimeters and overlapping seams are sealed with illbruck ME355 FR Sealing & Joining Tape A2 or other tape specified by illbruck. Some details e.g. floor junction or solid walls may require the use of illbruck SP025 Fire Membrane Adhesive in addition to the illbruck ME355 FR Sealing & Joining Tape A2. |
