General purpose floor smoothing compound.
Suitable:
STOPGAP GREEN BAG is a general purpose, low odour, fast setting smoothing underlayment. STOPGAP GREEN BAG is dimensionally stable and is supplied as a pre-blended dry powder and liquid which is designed for application between 3 – 20 mm.
Liquid Selection:
Use STOPGAP GREEN BAG with STOPGAP 114 Liquid over most absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces without the need to prime.
Use STOPGAP GREEN BAG with STOPGAP 128 Liquid over absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces when primed with STOPGAP P131 or P121. See PRIMING for details.
Priming:
When STOPGAP GREEN BAG mixed with 114 Liquid is used under STOPGAP waterproof surface membranes; Concrete and sand/ cement screeds must be free from contamination such as old adhesive residues.
Absorbent concrete and sand/ cement screeds must be primed with STOPGAP P131 diluted 1:7 with water.
Non-absorbent surfaces and power floated concrete must be mechanically treated in accordance with the F. Ball Subfloor Preparation Guide.
Dry and suitably prepared calcium sulphate screeds e.g. anhydrite must be primed with STOPGAP P121 - refer to STOPGAP P121 data sheet for further information.
Note: STOPGAP Waterproof Surface Membranes are not suitable for use over calcium sulphate screeds, e.g. anhydrite.
Non-absorbent surfaces - Priming of non-absorbent subfloors such as minimal adhesive residues, terrazzo and quarry tiles is not essential when using STOPGAP 114Liquid. Sound flooring grade asphalt and STOPGAP waterproof surface membranes must be primed with neat STOPGAP P131 to ensure that good adhesion is obtained between the underlayment and substrate.
When using STOPGAP 128 Liquid over non-absorbent subfloors always prime with neat STOPGAP P131. Primers must be allowed to dry before applying the smoothing underlayment.
