This fully integrated acoustic enclosure was pre-assembled offsite and lifted to the rooftop as a single completed unit, significantly reducing onsite work and disruption. The enclosure features a removable louvred roof, which was temporarily lifted off to allow for the seamless installation of five Daikin VRV units. This modular design streamlined logistics and installation while ensuring optimal access and acoustic performance.

OVERVIEWThis project we provided 3 of our Series 2 non penetrating platforms with Soundshield acoustic screens to effectively house a range of HVAC equipment on the roof. The equipment internally acts as ballast for the enclosures to cope with wind loading. This innovative solution was seamlessly integrated with the surrounding screens to effectively conceal all plant equipment visually and acoustically. The raised mesh deck, upon which the units are mounted, offers 70% free area. These systems allowed the main contractor to continue and complete the building up to the final roof stage without having to worry about secondary steelwork for the plant enclosures which would have required weatherproofing and taken significantly longer to install. In contrast, these modular, pre-engineered, kit-form systems arrive on-site in crane-liftable packs and can be installed within just a few days with no roof penetrations.Key features- Series 2 freestanding deck to support the units with no roof penetrations.- Soundshield acoustic panels providing a 28db reduction.- Conforms to BS EN 516 2006 and BS EN 1090-3 2008InstallationThe installation was successfully completed in just 3 days by a dedicated team of 3. Thanks to the flat-packed modular solution and detailed instructions, the entire process proceeded seamlessly, with no issues of missing parts or product waste.DesignThe design, developed by our in-house design team, featured a non-penetrating deck system specifically engineered to support the equipment without compromising the integrity of the roof structure. The Soundshield screens are imperforate, acoustically reflective panels which fix to the back of the aesthetic finish and create a barrier achieving a weighted sound reduction of 28dB, maintaining both functionality and aesthetics. The design was meticulously tailored to meet all roof load requirements and plant equipment specifications, ensuring compliance with technical standards. Additionally, it allowed for an impressive 70% free airflow through the plant deck, supporting optimal ventilation and system performance while preserving the visual appeal of the installation.

OVERVIEWThis combination of Series 3 platforms and 310m of Speedscreen made for an excellent solution for mounting equipment and screening off ductwork. Also included were two screened walkways for access between roof areas. The system utilized a ballast-weighted design, which meant that no roof penetrations were required during installation. This preserved the integrity of the waterproofing membrane and reduced the risk of leaks or long-term structural issues—an ideal solution for retrofits or sensitive roof structures. Key Features included; Series 3 platform for a secure, non-penetrating rooftop solution. Ballast-weighted Speedscreen for enclosing and protecting equipment without any roof penetrations.Guardrail system and access steps to ensure safety for maintenance teams.Conforms to BS EN 516 2006 and BS EN 1090-3 2008INSTALL The installation was successfully completed over a three-week period by a dedicated five person team. Thanks to the modular, prefaabricated design and the inclusion of clear, easy to follow instructions, the process was highly efficient from start to finish. The pre-engineered components arrived onsite organized and ready for assembly, significantly reducing installation time and complexity. The modular concept played a key role in the project's success; ensuring there were no missing parts, no product waste, and no delays. This streamlined approach not only minimized onsite disruption but also enabled the team to complete the build smoothly and within the projected timeline.DESIGNThis low Speedscreen system was purposefully designed to hide unsightly air conditioning units and ductwork, ensuring a cleaner and more cohesive rooftop aesthetic. Spanning a whopping 453 metres all together, the screens not only delivered on visual impact but also on practicality. It was powder-coated to perfectly match the building’s exterior, helping it blend seamlessly with the overall architectural palette.Additionally, a Series 3 platform was used to mount specific HVAC equipment. The platform featured a specialised 6mm cushioning tape applied to its base, creating a soft interface between the structure and the roof surface. This approach ensured that rooftop equipment could be securely supported without compromising the membrane, required no penetrations and reduced vibration.

OVERVIEWOur solution eliminated a 200mm thick concrete slab at roof height with all associated costs in timeand hassle, and allowed the Kingspan roof to continue through over the complete area. This significantlyshortened the time it took to get the building to the watertight stage resulting in an estimated cost saving of £120,000.00 and reduced the program by 6 weeks. With a total weight of 6 tonnes instead of approximately 25-30 tonnes, this was a huge saving on the environment as well as the structural requirements. The complete roof plant enclosure was installed in less than 2 weeks, with a crane required for one day only.Key features- Series 1 platform for a secure, non-penetrating rooftop solution.- Acoustic panels for reducing sound pollution.- Prefabricated flue support structure to save installation time on site- Conforms to BS EN 516 2006 and BS EN 1090-3 2008INSTALLATIONThe installation of the entire roof plant enclosure was completed in less than two weeks, with the crane being required for just a single day. The quick and efficient installation minimized disruption to the surrounding environment, enabling other ongoing activities to continue without delay. Additionally, the streamlined installation process meant that the package was delivered ahead of schedule, ensuring that the roof plant was operational in good time. DESIGNThis simple yet effective design, developed by our in-house team, delivered a clean and professional solution to screen off the plant equipment, while also providing significant acoustic attenuation. A level, non-penetrating raised mesh deck was designed to evenly distribute the load of the units, providing stable support while eliminating any risk of damage to the roof surface. To further protect the roof and provide a cushioned interface, a 6mm foam rubber tape was applied to ensure a soft and secure transition onto the surface. The design not only met all the specified roof requirements but also carefully addressed acoustic considerations, ensuring that noise control was integrated seamlessly into the overall solution. This combination of functionality and aesthetic appeal resulted in a final product that satisfied both technical and visual expectations. By optimizing the design for both efficiency and performance, we were able to provide a solution that enhanced the overall project timeline, reduced costs, and met all functional and aesthetic goals.
