SPAX A2 stainless steel facade screws with cut point are a visible and non-visible solution for installing board and batten profiles.
The raised countersunk head facade screw.
Features and benefits:
The typical SPAX T-STAR plus drive is a so-called hexalobular internal. This shape increases the contact surface of our T-STAR plus and ensures optimal positioning for the T-STAR plus bits in the screw head. By enabling maximum force transmission from the screwdriver to the screw, T-STAR plus guarantees simple and ultra-fast work with much more efficiency than with other drives.
In contrast to the countersunk head, which is designed flat to enable flush screw countersinking, the raised countersunk head has a convex shape. Depending on screw type and surface material (stainless steel, nickel-plated, antique), these screws can be used as a decorative element in furniture construction or for fastening skirting boards.
The screws with partial thread are suitable for fastening thin components like engineered wood boards, panels and floorboards to thicker components like squared timbers or beams. The short thread penetrates the thick component, whilst the thread-free shank remains in the attachment. This creates maximum contact pressure between the two. The thread-free part should be at least the same thickness as the attachment.
The CUT point on SPAX screws enables the ultra-fast and effective insertion of the wood screws without pre-drilling. In combination with the serrations, the arrow-shaped CUT point reduces wood splitting and tearing. The CUT point also enables extremely precise and sturdy setting of the screw tip on smooth surfaces.
With these stainless-steel screws, the abbreviation A2 refers to the alloy of the steel. Screws made of stainless steel A2 offer a high level of protection against corrosion and medium strength. However, they have low resistance to saltwater and acids. They are therefore used in outdoor applications in non-coastal areas.
